Protests erupted outside of prominent Democrat donor Ed Buck Monday hours after a black man was found dead in Buck’s Los Angeles residence – the second time a dead body has mysteriously been discovered in his home in the past year and a half.
Law enforcement has yet to release the cause of death or identity of the deceased male who died in the 65-year-old’s West Hollywood apartment and the LAPD has yet to issue a statement on the matter.
In light of the second death at Buck’s apartment, local activists are sounding the alarm, after the dead body of a second black male was found in Buck’s house, warning, “This man is a danger to our community.”
“Arrest Ed Buck, prosecute Ed Buck, and then a jury needs to convict Ed Buck,” activist Jasmyne Cannick told a crowd gathering outside the California apartment Monday night, according to FOX11. “This man has had two dead bodies in his house, and he is still in his house.”
Cannick is organizing a vigil for the deceased male near Buck’s home.
Activists claim the Los Angeles Police Department hasn’t pressed charges against Buck because he has heavily contributed to top Democratic officials.
Federal election records show Buck, who has advocated for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues for decades, has given more than $500,000 to Democrats— including former President Barack Obama, failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, former California Gov. Jerry Brown and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti.
The discovery of the dead body comes 17 months after the death of Gemmel Moore, a male escort who died of a drug overdose at West Hollywood apartment. Moore detailed in his later uncovered journal that Buck injected him with drugs during their encounters.
The Democrat mega donor’s apartment was “full of drug paraphernalia, including 24 syringes containing brown residue, five glass pipes with white residue and burn marks, a plastic straw with possible white residue, clear plastic bags with white powdery residue and a clear plastic bag containing a piece of crystal-like substance, according to a coroner’s report cited by Fox News.
Buck, who reportedl has been accused of having a “fetish” for injecting drugs into black men he meets through dating websites, was investigated for his death and later cleared after prosecutors declined to file charges against him.
Initially, Moore’s death was ruled an accidental methamphetamine overdose, but the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office re-opened the investigation after discovering the writings in Moore’s journal that confirmed Buck was central to his drug use.
“I’ve become addicted to drugs and the worst one at that. Ed Buck is the one to thank. He gave me my first injection of crystal meth it was very painful, but after all the troubles, I became addicted,” n a Moore wrote December 2016.
In his final entry, on Dec. 3, 2016, Moore wrote: “If it didn’t hurt so bad, I’d kill myself, but I’ll let Ed Buck do it for now.”
