Democrats showcased their opposition to ending illegal immigration during President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address Tuesday, particularly Minnesota Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar.
“Tolerance for illegal immigration is not compassionate, it is actually very cruel,” said. “One in three women is sexually assaulted on the long journey,” Trump added.
Omar’s hand covered her face and she appeared to cry as Trump warned of the perils of illegal immigration.

The Muslim congresswoman also blasted the president on Twitter, following his address, rejecting his call to end late-term abortion.
“There could be no greater contrast to the beautiful image of a mother holding her infant child than the chilling displays our nation saw in recent days,” Trump said. He ripped New York Democrats who recently passed a law allowing abortion to be legal up until birth.
“To defend the dignity of every person, I am asking the Congress to pass legislation to prohibit the late-term abortion of children who can feel pain in the mother’s womb,” he said.
Trump’s attempt to “police” women’s bodies, llhan predicted, won’t help him win reelection in 2020.
If Trump thinks pivoting from his failed vanity wall to policing women's bodies and choices is going to help his 2020 chances he has another thing coming.#SOTU
